Acquavita | Resilience over the sea
Rio de Janeiro, BRA
Acquavita is a project that investigates the viability of a self-sufficient and sustainable floating community in coastal regions as one of the strategies for preserving the lives of cities and citizens threatened by rising sea levels due to human deeds. Acquavita seeks a reaction in which the human being returns into the position that we should have never left. In a mutualism relationship, the proposal for a floating village was born. A neighborhood capable of maintaining itself due to systems for energy generation and food, which preserves the nature and life of all
creatures. The purpose is to show the affected cities that it is possible to deal with difficulties, to avoid a large scale abandoning, and to implement a new way of living. The resilience will happen from clean production, preservation of the environment, and use of all urban and city infrastructure not affected by rising sea levels. Floating architecture is a trend for future generations.
